      I’ve not seen the film, but I get the gist. Someone did a test where they raised a boy and chimp simultaneously, to see if they would develop as humans together. On most things they did (using cutlery, playing etc.) but when it came to talking, the chimp couldn’t do it. Whats more, the boys development was held back by the chimp, and instead of talking he grunted and made noises like the chimp. The parents stopped the experiment very quickly after that.

      Chimps don’t have the correct throat parts to make the noises we do for speech.
