• Question: will humans evolve into something different in the future?

      We are evolving all the time, unless our environment is such that our current form is simply the best for it then we will continue to evolve.

      It depends on how much time we have on the planet. It’s been thousands of years to get us where we are now, but our DNA may not have changed a lot in that time.

      I don’t think we’ll evolve into something different (it’s taken us millions of years for us to get to where we are today!) But I certainly think ourselves as humans will evolve and adapt as our environment changes.

      A lot of evolution is to do with selection of advantageous features – some science fiction writers think we are going to become more and more blobby because we can control our environment and don’t need to run away from wolves any more etc…
