Frogs are wet because they produce mucus throughout their body. This helps them to breathe, as they sometimes breathe through their skin.

In relation to their feet, it allows them to stick to a surface – much in the same way as if you lick your finger, you can get a small piece of paper to stick. The mucus itself isn’t a glue, but combined with the special shaped cells on the frogs feet, makes them stick.
