      Abdus Salam.

      He was a famous physicist who contributed to the unification of the weak force and the electromagnetic force. An extremely gifted man.

      I’ll put my vote in for Eraqi Khannon, the Egyptian muslim working in my lab just now. He’s a great guy, and a very dedicated scientist.

      I guess for me it is Abu Bakr Zakariya al-Razi – he was the first person to describe the difference between the diseases caused by smallpox and measles viruses long before anyone knew about viruses…he was famous worldwide, mainly I think because he was systematic and made observations without guessing or making things up to fit his own ideas.
