I think the effects of it are horrendous, really upsetting to see. Yesterday afternoon, a vet gave me two calves that were born dead because of it for my research – the poor things were all twisted up and deformed. For some farmers who have had lots of sheep all lambing at the same time that have been affected by it, it has been devastating. Hopefully, there will be fewer animals affected next year when they have developed immunity, and a vaccine will be available in the next month or two, which should help. I would like to think I can do something to help farmers to stop it affecting their animals in future.
