      Hi Ellis, the actual fluid produced by the pad is really a very watery liquid, made of proteins and fatty molecules. It’s not sticky, like glue is. Instead, the frogs can use this fluid to stick in the same way that you can pick up a small piece of paper by licking your finger and touching it. The fluid (your saliva) isn’t normally sticky, but forces within the fluid will help the paper to stick. In the same way, frogs are small enough that these forces can occur when their pads are in contact with a surface.
