0 Question: Is there an asteroid that is bigger than America? Keywords: america, asteroid, universe Asked by oharbinson to Emma, Jimmy, Janet, Niall on 20 Mar 2013.
Niall Crawford answered on 20 Mar 2013:
possibly, none have been discovered so far, the biggest ones known of in the asteroid belt are 900km in diameter, which is still pretty big.
James Holloway answered on 20 Mar 2013:
No doubt they are out there, but we haven’t seen one. It would only take a one a mile wide (travelling at 30,000 miles per hour) to destroy life on earth, so one the size of America would be hard to imagine!
Emma Ashley answered on 20 Mar 2013:
Yep, I’m sure there’s one out there somewhere in the universe but maybe not in our solar system!
