      I’d like to see more lab tests that will quicken the diagnosis for different diseases. For example, at the moment there are lots of proteins that are released into the blood stream when you have certain types of cancer – these are called tumour markers. Lots of research is being completed to find new tumour markers. Hopefully in the future, more of these tests will be available to help speed up diagnosis and help in the monitoring of these patients.

      I’d also like more money to be available so we can get better analysers into the lab, however that’s very difficult at the moment due to the ongoing recession….

      It would probably be to improve contact with other departments and techniques. It would help in coming up with new and innovative ways to tests frogs toe pads, or see the pads under the microscope.
