• Question: How do you get such detailed and close up pictures of developing babies in the uterus? Ultrasound scans are not as detailed as this, how do they do it?

Do you mean 4D pictures of babies? These still use ultrasound but in a different way as there have been advances in this technology. Ultrasound is the only safe way to image babies – you can’t use x-rays, CT-scans or MRI scans as these have too much radiation and can cause damage to the unborn baby. Ultrasound is the only imaging technique that doesn’t use radiation. You can’t get it on the NHS at the moment because it’s very expensive.
