When you eat them? So pomegranates do not have a lot of iron compared to other fruit… They are full of antioxidants which I’ve heard can help you with your circulatory system, so maybe they are helping in other ways.

      Any other scientists know why?

Pomegranates are a great source of iron. Iron is important for the production of your red blood cells as it is one of the important components of haemoglobin, the protein that allows you transport oxygen around your body. They also have a high level of folate (a B vitamin) which is also important for the production of red blood cells. And as Jimmy has said, they have high levels of antioxidants which help to reduce inflammation in your arteries and prevent them from being clogged up with plaques that are made from bad cholesterol and fat. This improves blood flow to your muscles, especially your heart muscle.
