• Question: do cats have nine lives?

      I think this comes from ancient times when nine was a lucky number (we are more used to thinking of seven as a lucky number and in Arabian and Turkish proverbs they have seven lives)…the reason cats are seen as lucky may be because they have an amazing ability to survive things that would probably kill another animal (e.g. they are famous for being able to survive a fall from several storeys up).

      In short, no. They’re good at climbing and jumping, but only have one life.
