• Question: As light refracts in water does the room you test in have to have no water molecules or does it not affect the outcome?

It has to have no water, no air, no nothing!

We pump all of the air out of the metal tube that the laser goes through so that it is essentially going through empty space. If an unfortunate molecule were to float in the path of the laser beam it would be blow away.
