• Question: Why cant penguins fly?

      They’ve evolved to swim fast and live in the cold, this has given them stumpy wings and thick fat layers which make it impossible for them to fly.

      I guess that they’ve evolved to “fly” under water. In air they’re far too heavy for their small wings to support them.

      Yep they’ve adapted to their environment and they don’t need to fly. Their wings are disproportionately small for their body and they can’t hold their weight whilst in the air.
