Who knows, but one reason that I don’t think it is is that there haven’t been any people from the future come back to see anyone in history, at any recorded point. They could just be good at blending in and not revealing their identity though.

People often buy stars, but I’m not sure in reality whether they actually get to own it. I think it’s just about naming it, and being able to point at a star and say you named it.
