• Question: is there a virus which could spread from animal to animal and wipe out there species?

      Possibly, but because a virus needs living cells to be able to replicate and spread, if it kills off an animal it limits its chances of spreading and infecting other animals. If an animal species was already close to extinction and there were only a few left, then a deadly virus that could spread from animal to animal could be the final straw.
