      Yes! In developing countries many millions of small children and babies die of food poisoning. In the UK you are much less likely to die because sanitation and hygeine are much better, but if you are very young or old, the risk of death can increase. It also depends on the type of food poisoning bacterium. Botulism is a very rare kind of food poisoning that can cause paralysis and then death.
